La exitosa película recibió impresionantes 18 nominaciones para la 29ª edición de los Critics Choice Awards, que se llevará a cabo el 14 de enero en Los Ángeles. La comediante Chelsea Handler será la presentadora de la ceremonia de premiación, que se transmitirá en vivo por The CW.
Además de la categoría de Mejor Película, «Barbie» está nominada en Mejor Comedia, Mejor Actriz para Margot Robbie, Mejor Actor de Reparto para Ryan Gosling y Mejor Actriz de Reparto para America Ferrera. La película también está reconocida en las categorías de Mejor Cabello y Maquillaje y Mejor Conjunto de Actuación, con Ariana Greenblatt nominada como Mejor Joven Actor/Actriz.
